Bhupinder Singh Saggu is a diaspora Punjabi poet, translator, editor, and writer. He was born on June 7, 1954, in the home of his father, Inder Singh, and mother, Bishan Kaur, in the village of Alowal, tehsil Nakodar, district Jalandhar. He began his primary education at Siyaniwal School and started participating in literary activities from childhood. He completed his tenth-grade studies at Sadhu Singh Dard Academy in Nakodar. In 1978, midway through his college education, Saggu left his studies and moved to England, where he earned diplomas in bilingual community languages and engineering. Following this, he secured a job at England's Westfield Stepping transport company.
Bhupinder Singh Saggu's literary journey began in childhood. He started taking part in school song and music events. Later, by writing poems and ghazals, he made significant contributions to Punjabi literature. To date, nearly a dozen of his poetry collections have been published, including *Rishteyan da Jungle*, *Simte Hoye Pal*, *Mashal*, *Wagdi Rahi Jhanan*, *Sach te Soole*, *Chanan di Baat*, and others. His poetry explores themes such as loneliness, memories of the past, the pain of separation, concern for humanity, condemnation of corrupt politics, the fracturing of relationships, and more.
Currently residing in England, Bhupinder Singh Saggu continues to actively participate in literary and cultural activities.
