Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is a famous poet of medieval Punjabi literature, a social reformer, martyr guru, and the ninth Guru Sahib of Sikh religion. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji ascended the Gurugaddi at Bakala in 1665 and the Guru's hymns are recorded in the Guru Granth Sahib in 15 ragas in the form of 116 Shabads. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed his life against oppression at Chandni Chowk, Delhi, for the protection of truth and religion.
