Harbhajan Halwarvi was renowned as a Punjabi poet, writer, journalist, and editor. He was born in 1943 in the village of Halwara, Ludhiana district, to Giani Arjan Singh. His father was a deeply religious man, and this spiritual environment significantly influenced Harbhajan's early life. He received his primary education in Halwara and later pursued higher studies, completing his F.Sc. and earning a B.Sc. degree from Arya College, Ludhiana, in 1963. Inspired by his teachers, Harbhajan began writing poetry on themes of spirituality, patriotism, and nature during his formative years.
In 1977, Harbhajan Halwarvi joined the Punjabi Tribune as an assistant editor and eventually retired as its editor. By temperament, he was a poet, and by profession, a successful journalist. His poetry collections vividly captured the nuances of human emotions, the pain of societal conditions, and a quest for beauty.
