Harmanjit Singh is a young poet, writer, and lyricist of the Punjabi language. He was born on 27 June 1991 in village Khiala Kalan, district Mansa. He completed his education up to the tenth standard from Baba Jogi Pir Public School, Ralla, and his twelfth standard from the government school of his village. Harmanjit completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from Guru Nanak College, Budhlada. In addition to this, he completed the E.T.T. course and is presently serving as a primary school teacher.
Due to the presence of a literary environment in his family, Harmanjit’s inclination towards literature grew stronger. In 2015, his book Ranitatt was published, half of which consists of poetry and the other half of prose. Harmanjit’s poetry draws special attention because of its ability to present profound ideas in simple language. Through his words, he gives poetic form to the life experiences of the common person, where pain, hope, resistance, and sensitivity appear intertwined with one another.
As a lyricist, Harmanjit Singh has established a beautiful balance between Punjabi folk tradition and modern thought. The songs written by him do not remain limited to mere entertainment; rather, they also express social realities, personal emotions, and the complexities of human relationships. For this very reason, his songs have become popular among a wide audience, and he is regarded as a serious and insightful voice in contemporary Punjabi music.
