Jaswant Zafar is a multifaceted personality known for his contributions as a Punjabi poet, essayist, painter, and cartoonist. He was born on December 17, 1965, in his maternal village, Samme Khalsa, but spent his childhood in Mahismpur. Zafar completed his schooling up to the 10th grade at Government High School, Koom Kalan, pursued higher education at Government College, Ludhiana, and earned an engineering degree from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, in 1989.
Zafar served in the Punjab State Electricity Board but has a deep passion for Punjabi literature, poetry, essays, painting, and cartooning. His works reflect social issues, aesthetics, and innovative ideologies. His notable poetry collections include *Do Saahan De Vichkar* (Between Two Breaths), *Asin Nanak De Ki Lagde Haan* (What Are We to Nanak), and *Eh Banda Ki Hunda* (What Is This Man). In the field of essays, his works *Sikhu So Khoji Lahai* and *Mainu Eyo Lagia* are significant contributions to Punjabi literature.
