Dr. Pal Kaur is a renowned Punjabi poet, critic, and feminist writer. She is one of the visionary contributors to Punjabi literature with a feminist perspective. She was born on May 15, 1957, in Kalomajra village, located in Punjab’s Patiala district. Her father was Surain Singh, and her mother was Surjit Kaur. She completed her B.A. from MCM DAV College in Chandigarh. She then pursued postgraduate studies and a Ph.D. from Kurukshetra University. She specialized in Punjabi literature and linguistics. Dr. Pal Kaur worked as a professor in the Punjabi Department at S.A. Jain College in Ambala, Haryana.

Dr. Pal Kaur has written several collections of poetry and criticism. Her works are associated with feminist ideology and provide a new direction to Punjabi literature. These include poetry collections such as Khalaawasi, Main Mukhatib Haan, Sweekar Ton Baad, Inj Na Mileen, Hun Tak, Peengh, Paun Tragi, Hun Tak, Sun Gunwanta Sun Budhwanta, and additionally, she has undertaken editorial work, including Balde Khatan De Sirnavein, Parinde Kalpana De Desh De, and Pash: Jithe Kavita Khatam Nahi Hundi. Her works deeply highlight women’s rights, social issues, and linguistic consciousness. Articles on her and discussions about her literary contributions have been featured in Hindustan Times by Nirupama Dutt.

Dr. Pal Kaur has been honored by the Language Department and other institutions in the Punjabi literary world. She has been awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award.
